Something tells me we won’t be seeing that Hilux for a while.
As I recall, the anis bottles in Spain were patterned all over with rectangular pyramids that made them ideal for improvising a rhythm with a wooden dowel as a “scratcher.” Don’t know if that was the intent or just for dolling up the product.
Hope that customs problem has resolved by now!
Hey ya’all – happy holleydaze. The turkey day photos were great and I do track your writing, Lorna, tho it took me a while to figure out that you had gotten so active posting on the LoA site. Sorry about car travails – I did read some article in the SF Chron about problems with car sales/delivery in your part of the world – hope it’s just bureaucracy and not anything more onorous.Life in the valley is settling into the last of the darkening days, with solstice soon to come and the first official day of the Age of Aquarius! You are already practicing Global Citizenship and now we all need to ride the shift to Global Heart Consciousness! Wishing you all a wonderful holiday as I continue to miss you.

Hi Lorna- I found your blog and it is delightfully informative. I lrelly like the clarity of your photos and video clips.
My recent interest in Ethiopia stems from a possible work assignment in Addis Ababa, and it seems you have just traveled down a similar path to the one I may embark on.
If you don’t mind, I’d like to establish dialog by e-mail if you can spare a little time.
If you can, my e-mail is andersonandco@hotmail.com
Thanks in advance.
Hi Lorna! I’ve enjoyed reading your blog, as I just accepted a contract to come teach at ICS in the elementary school this coming fall. I’m currently teaching in Moscow. Your writing is engaging and I’ve loved reading about your adventures settling in and exploring in and around Addis. Good luck with the Hilux!
Moscow! Brrr…. I’ll bet it’s pretty chilly there this time of year! I think you’ll find the weather here a pleasant change. Let me know if you have any questions about what to pack, ship, etc. I’m happy to offer advice!
Yes, Moscow is having it’s snowiest winter in a century, apparently. The snow is pretty but the ice gets old. I’d love to hear more about shipping and packing, and your recommendations about car buying. My email is shafesa@gmail.com if you want to write me. Thanks!
